Solution-Focused Therapy
What is solution-focused therapy? And isn’t all therapy solution-focused?
Solution-focused therapy, also known as solution-focused brief therapy, is a short approach to regular talk therapy. It is a constructive therapy that guides the client to think creatively and identify their own strengths, prospects, and motivations to achieve their goals. Not all therapy is solution-focused. Some therapies emphasize investigating the origins of personal obstacles or points of tension.
When seeking solution-focused brief therapy, keep in mind that it is a very temporary-based therapy. It is beneficial for individuals who require motivation during periods of stagnation in their goals. It is frustrating to know your goal and recognize your capabilities, but the uncertainty of how to achieve it can lead to more than just frustration; it can also result in loss of motivation and self-doubt. This is where SFBT/SFT comes in to help you shift your perspective and utilize your strengths more effectively. It provides the helpful nudge and reminder you need to realize what is an obvious fact: that you’ve got this. SFBT helps you visualize the path to success you need to take and put it into action.
If you have a specific goal in mind, please know that SFBT/SFT is an incredible option to help you launch into what you believe needs to be done with peace of mind and confidence to execute.
